Oversaw the national transition relocating onsite workers to home offices during the 2020
Covid outbreak. 2019 implementation of major network upgrades to modern Cisco
Firewalls and Cisco VPN at the company HQ. As such the company was prepared to
transition quickly with minimal impact to operations. Conversion of workers to home office
was as simple as packing office desktops, printers then connecting devices to home
wireless via the HQ with the new Cisco VPN client.
Implementation and management of help desk ticketing system, maintenance, standards
enforcement, reporting, onboarding and offboarding of users and equipment
Managed employees, contractors and vendors to complete the IT build out from an empty
warehouse to fully stocked and functional distribution centers with enterprise class wireless
provided by Cisco hardware, all stages, Oakland, CA, Atlanta, GA and Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Design and installation of enterprise warehouse wireless networks with national integration /
connectivity into IBM System 8 server (IBMi) databases for real-time inventory availability
and distribution with tracking of warehouse inventory pulling. Ensuring highest cost

Wireless fail over coverage using Cisco Aironet WAPs with both internal and external WAP

Professional Overview:
Project management skills encompassing team building / direction, project tracking with

information required to budget and forecast real-time and future IT costs using Microsoft

From planning and managing quarterly projects to onsite emergency after hours support
including email outages affecting hundreds of users, website server outages impacting
fortune 500 companies operations, flooded server rooms to large rollout and upgrades of
Windows 7, Windows 10 and 11 operating systems with Microsoft Office suites up to Office
365 (O365).
Experience rapidly restoring production Hyper-V virtual machines that failed due to
Microsoft updates. Became Veeam certified with backup and replication procedures

On premises server work experience with Windows Server from 2008 through 2022. Built IT
infrastructure incorporating warehouse / distribution centers with connectivity to

Budgeting, planning, acquisition and ordering of all IT related equipment and managing
redundant internet providers, directing hardware implementation with project
coordinating internal staff, contractors and other vendors to perform cabling, installation
LAN and WAN network switch and firewall hardware with on premises servers.
I have worked on servers and LANs resolving network performance issues including
diagnosing and upgrading workstations for architectural and engineering firms. In 2008 I
was hired by the engineering firm whom at the time was relying on server and network
hardware (Meraki and Dell) designing the new Apple Headquarters in Cupertino. I worked
with this firm to improve network performance and upgrade switching hardware and to
resolve ongoing network and server issues allowing them to meet strict project deadlines
set by Apple.
I have also personally managed and upgraded architectural servers, SAN storage and
engineering workstations for a high-profile architectural firm that did the redesign of the
San Francisco Ferry Building and areas within 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City.
Throughout my career I have mitigated and resolved issues with catastrophic flooding of
servers by restoring and/or replacing LAN/WAN equipment and servers. Samples of my
engineering work history include restoring operations to the SSF Imported Auto Parts
distribution warehouse in San Diego by locating local replacement parts to minimize
downtime, therefore reducing cost impact to operations.
After I followed up with a full overview of IT operations at the San Diego location and
implemented new procedures and processes as well as physically relocating the server
closet to another area of the warehouse to ensure the valuable hardware was protected
in the future.
I’ve also been contracted to provide overnight emergency support to the Valley Transit
Authority (VTA) operations center in San Jose. I formed a team to restore operations with
VTAs flooded server rack due to pooled rain on a compromised area above the server
room. Equipment located at this HQ facility and call center provided mission critical
emergency communications between VTA’s public transit system communications
between bus and light rail vehicle operators, VTA HQ and police departments throughout
the greater San Jose. I helped to directly reduce the impact of this incident not only to
VTA employees but protected public safety as well.
Throughout all these instances and many more I have become a battle-hardened IT
troubleshooter. And have been able to leverage and share this knowledge with coworkers
to ensure IT best practices are followed. As well as ensuring IT employees and contractors
are capable and competent when performing their individual job functions.
I have been contracted to mitigate and restore operations for companies that were
impacted by viruses and ransomware using a combination of data restoration, upgrades
of Cisco firewall hardware (hardening Cisco source code of compromised Cisco
equipment), implementation of Intrusion Detection hardware. Proactively auditing and
patching or replacing mixed and/or outdated Antivirus clients on servers and end user
systems
Not only do I possess the engineering skills and knowledge to work IT. I also have solid
